Sasumua Dam Catchments
Sasumua Dam Catchments area is the second largest water source for Nairobi . Due to the continued destruction of the catchments and the drought that is currently being experienced, Sasumua only has 3.5 million Cubic Meters of water. We are inviting you to join us on 10th October 2009 on our second phase of rehabilitation. You will be required to buy your own seedlings at the catchments area and plant
 
 
EASY TIMES FINALLY COMPLETE !!!

 We are very proud to announce that the DVD recording of Easy Times in now complete. It’s an excellent production, the first one of its kind first in and we believe in the world! In terms of impact, this is big time….it will certainly make the learning of multiplication tables interesting and fun. It has been a lot of work getting it all together, a lot of talents and skills have been involved as well. We have no doubts whatsoever that it will win accolades both at home and abroad………

GROWING UP GREEN

Growing up Green’ is a school based annual children’s tree planting programme in which every child enrolled in class one will be required to plant a tree. This tree will mark their entry into primary school which they will be encouraged to tender and take care of until its maturity. As you are aware, nearly 100% of the Kenyan children are enrolled in class one every year since the free primary school programme was introduced thanks to our Government. We see no better opportunity to inculcate the values and virtues of trees in our children than this.

SASUMUA CATCHMENT AREA

Sasumua Dam Catchments Area is the second largest water source for Nairobi. Constructed in 1956, Sasumua dam has the capacity to hold when full, 16 million cubic meters of water. At this time of the year, Sasumua Dam holds about 7 Million cubic meters of water. This January though, due to the continued destruction of the catchments and the drought that is currently being experienced, Sasumua only has 4.3 million Cubic Meters of water. The effect it being felt in all those areas North of Waiyaki way served by the catchments including Lavington, Kileleshwa, Hurlingham, Westlands, Ngong Road, Langata, Ngumo among others!
