| Annual Programmes
Our programmes fall within five thematic areas: Alternative Learning, Outdoor Adventure, Our Environment, Being Creative and Helping People. Alternative School/Learning The mission of the alternative school is simple, to move learning beyond the confines of the classroom. It exposes children to the tools, facilities, programmes and people who make our world. Through the programme, we offer children a window of opportunity for self discovery, a chance to develop future inclinations and widen their scope and outlook towards life. We organize corporate visits and extensive interactions with persons of diverse cultures and professions. Outdoor Adventure The club organizes weekend children’s excursions and holiday expeditions. We aim to give opportunities for children to touch base with nature, appreciate open and wide spaces and enjoy various flora and fauna. Through this programme we foster resilience in children, promote a culture of passion for domestic tourism while at the same time highlighting conservation challenges, methods and priorities. The programme has taken us to all the major national parks and reserves in the country. It is spiced up with great game drives and an all-exciting camping experience. Our Environment We have engaged over the years in major tree planting and conservation education programes and have been acknowledged widely for our efforts. We have planted over 30,000 seedlings at the Kikuyu Springs, Amboseli National Park, Kedong Valley, Ngong Hills and in primary schools compounds in the newly launched, Growing up Green. We are proud of the positive effects that our initiatives have had on the local and global environment and the positive life lessons that the children learn from this. Becoming Creative We continue as a club to develop the creative and imaginative faculties of our children through exposure to various forms of art. Through this programme, we have created over 2000 square feet of mosaic arts for hospitals in Kenya and the Unite Kingdon, hosted the biannual Mohamed Amin International Children’s Art Exhibition, hosted the first Children’s Kites Festival in Kenya and engage in monthly Usanii art activities in partnership with the Godown Arts Centre. Helping People Juhudi aims growing a generation that is compassionate and responsive to the needs of their neighbours. We do this through visits to the children’s homes and homes for the elderly for play and having fun with them. We invite and host children from children’s homes and disadvantaged backgrounds in all of our programmes.
